Notre Dame Completes Sweep Of Mavericks

South Bend, Ind.--The Nebraska-Omaha hockey team could not crack Notre Dame freshman goaltender David Brown as he stopped all 18 UNO shots enroute to a 2-0 shutout and sweep over the Mavericks at the Joyce Center on Friday night.
Notre Dame (5-2-0, 4-2-0 CCHA) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Michael Bartlett and Neil Komadoski. Bartlett's goal was scored two minutes into the contest; Komadoski's tally was the first power play goal UNO surrendered during CCHA play this season.
The Mavericks' appeared to have cut the Notre Dame lead in half at 14:21 of the second period just after a power play had expired but Dan Hacker's goal was disallowed in front of the net because referee Mark Wilkins ruled Hacker's stick was above his shoulder when he tapped it past the UND goaltender.
Freshman goaltender Chris Holt had 30 saves in the losing effort for Nebraska-Omaha.
UNO (0-5-1, 0-3-1 CCHA) returns home next week and begins a four-game homestand starting with Lake Superior State on November 7-8.
