Mavs Open Season Saturday at Winona State

The curtain will rise on the Mavericks' 2003-04 season Saturday night when they visit Winona State for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Mavericks defeated the Warriors of the Northern Sun Conference, 79-62, in Omaha in last year's meeting. Coach Kevin McKenna will be guiding his third Maverick team after posting records of 24-9 and 20-10.
Winona State, which returns its entire 2002-03 roster, was 11-17 last year and is the pre-season favorite in the Northern Sun Conference.
