Mavs Top Northern Michigan, 2-1

Freshman goaltender Kris Tebbs shined in his first collegiate start as the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks downed Northern Michigan 2-1 at Qwest Center Omaha Friday night.
Tebbs made 23 saves and the only goal he surrendered was a 5 x 3 power play goal.
The Wildcats' Jamie Milam scored the power play goal at 17:05 in the first period.
UNO responded just 2:49 into the second period on Scott Parse's sixth goal of the season.
The Mavericks then took the lead at 2:23 of the third period. Brent Kisio scored the game winning goal and helped the Mavs gain its second victory of the season.
UNO outshot NMU 29-24 in the contest.
The Mavericks (2-6-1, 2-4-1 CCHA) will meet Northern Michigan again on Saturday at 7:05 at Qwest Center Omaha.
