
Tostenson Signs Four High School Standouts

University of Nebraska at Omaha head softball coach Jeanne Tostenson announced today the signing of four high school student-athletes, two from Nebraska, and one each from Illinois and Kansas, to North Central Conference and national letters of intent to attend UNO in the fall of 2004.
The newest Mavericks are pitcher Cayte Billman (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista HS), outfielder Alison Jergenson (Lincoln, Neb./Southeast HS), catcher Mandi Daigh (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley West HS), and catcher Brianna Cataudella (Hoffman Estate, Ill./Lake Park HS).
Following is a list of the four signees high school accomplishments:
Cayte Billman * Papillion, Neb./Papillion LaVista HS/Echoes Renegades
* Member of four-straight Nebraska Class A state championship teams at Papillion-LaVista HS
* Two-time All-Nebraska, all-class, all-state
* Three-time Class A all-state
* 2003, posted a 17-3 record with a 0.38 ERA during senior season
* Posted a career record of 48-10 with a 0.47 ERA
* 2003, led Echoes Renegades to a fifth-place finish at ASA 18-and-under Nationals
* 2002, 13th place at 16-and-under Nationals
Alison Jergensen * Lincoln, Neb./Southeast HS/Echoes Renegades
* Three-sport letterwinner in softball, basketball, and track
* Three-time Nebraska all-state in softball
* Three-time all-conference in softball
* Led team to a second place in 2001 and two third place finishes (2002, 2003) at the Nebraska State Softball Tournament
* 2003, batted .359 with 34 runs, 52 hits, 17 RBI, and 27 stolen bases
* Honor Roll every semester
* Helped lead team to three-straight Nebraska Class A state championships in track
* Placed second at the 2003 Nebraska State Track Meet in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays
* Placed fifth in the triple jump at 2002 State Track Meet
* Member of 2003 Nebraska Class A state championship basketball team
Mandi Daigh * Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley West HS/Topeka Flames
* Kansas all-state catcher
* Earned all-Frontier League and all-area honors
* 2003, batted .486 with 64 hits, 39 RBI, and 5 home runs
* 2003, committed just one fielding error for a .997 fielding percentage

Brianna Cataudella * Hoffman Estate, Ill./Lake Park HS/Chicago White Sox Academy

* 2003, led Lake Park High School team to a second place IHSA finish
