Mavs Blast No. 7 Massachusetts

Omaha, Neb.--Senior forward Andrew Wong recorded his first career hat trick and tied the school record for points in a single game in a 7-2 route over No. 7 Massachusetts Friday night at Qwest Center Omaha.
Wong collected two of UNO's four power play goals on the night and also tallied an even strength goal. He also notched two assists on the evening giving him a total of five points in the contest. Wong tied former Maverick Greg Zanon for points in a game and also recorded the third hat trick in program history.
Freshman Kaleb Betts recorded his first two-goal game of his career while freshman Scott Parse chipped in a goal and three assists. Junior Dan Hacker also tallied his fourth goal of the year.
Maverick freshman goaltender Chris Holt captured his second straight victory after stopping 18 Minutemen shots.
UNO (4-8-1, 3-6-1 CCHA) will play UMass again Saturday night at 7:05.
