Mavericks Sign Marian High School Volleyball Stand

University of Nebraska at Omaha head volleyball coach Rose Shires announced today the signing of 5-8 setter Katie Agnew (Omaha, Neb./Marian HS/River City Juniors) to North Central Conference and national letters of intent to attend UNO in the fall of 2004. The 2003 Mavericks lose just one senior to graduation, setter Kylie Lebeda, also an Omaha Marian graduate.

* Led team to 2001, 2002 and 2003 Nebraska State Volleyball Tournaments, including a runnerup finish in 2002

* Helped Marian to a 66-17 record her final two seasons
* Two-time honorable mention, all-state

* National Honor Society
* Honor Roll all four years
* 2003, River City Juniors club team qualified for USA Volleyball Junior Nationals in Phoenix, Az., finishing first in the Silver Club Division

The Mavericks ended the 2003 season with a 12-18 overall record and finished tied for sixth in the NCC with a 3-11 conference ledger.
