Fifth-ranked Glenville State Tops Mavs 89-74

FARGO, N.D.- Despite shooting a season-high 53.8 per cent from the field, the Mavs fell 89-74 to fifth-ranked Glenville State in the first game of the Comfort Inn Classic hosted by North Dakota State. UNO lost its fifth straigh game and fell to 2-6 while Glenville State improved to 5-0.
The Lady Pioneers were led by Carrie Triplett with 27 points. JJ Smith led the Mavs with 18 points, followed by Sara Meyers with 14 and Shannon Eggers with a 13 point effort.
The Mavs, down by just four, 41-37, at the half, let the game slip away in the opening minutes of the second half when Glenville State went on a 16-2 run.
The Mavs will face Massachussetts-Lowell Saturday night at 5:30 in the Comfort Inn Classic.
