MARYVILLE, MO. -- Northwest Missouri State shot 53 percent from the field and had four players score in double figures while registering an 85-59 non-conference win over the Mavericks Tuesday night at Bearcat Arena. Lindsey Petersen scored 13 points and Andrea Schoepf added 12 to lead the Mavericks, who fell to 2-3 with the loss.
The Bearcats, now 5-1, jumped out front 15-5 in the early-going, but UNO rallied with a 10-2 run that was fueled by three-pointers by Petersen and Skeeter Zoucha to close within a pair at 17-15 midway through the first half.
The Bearcats hit the next seven points, however, and UNO could get no closer than six the rest of the way. Northwest Missouri STate led at the half, 44-29.
Brooke Hogue led the Bearcats with 19 points, Ashely Poptanycz and Laura Friederich each added 144 and Tanesha Fields 10.
The Mavs are next in action this weekend when they meet Northern Colorado Friday night in the first round of the Colorado State-Pueblo Classic.
