Mavs Downed By Nanooks, 4-1

Fairbanks, Alaska---UNO's winless streak against Alaska Fairbanks continued Saturday night as the Nanooks downed the Mavericks 4-1 at the Carlson Center.
UAF took advantage of three second period goals for the second-straight night and extended its unbeaten streak against the Mavs to 13 games.
The Mavericks struck first at 7:38 of the opening period when Dan Hacker recorded his second goal of the weekend after splitting two defenders in the crease and beating goaltender Preston McKay over the shoulder.
UAF tied the score at 1-1 when Paul Austin recorded his first goal of the year at 13:32 of the first period.
The Nanooks then took control of the game during a five-minute span in the second period. Kelly Czuy tapped in a rebound on the power play in front of the net at 5:46. Alaska Fairbanks extended the lead to 4-1 in the second when Jordan Hendry and Ryan Campbell scored in a span 19 seconds at 9:29 and 9:18. Campbell's goal sent UNO starting goaltender Chris Holt to the bench in favor of senior Brian Haaland.
Nebraska-Omaha (4-10-2, 3-8-1 CCHA) returns home next week for its last series before winter break as when they host Michigan in a two-game CCHA series on December 12-13.
