Mavs Sign Burke Standout

Women's basketball coach Lisa Carlsen said April 16 that Carlye Jones, a 6-2 center for Omaha Burke High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha and play basketball next fall.
Jones joins three other players who signed national letters of intent last November as a member of Carlsen's recruiting class.
"Carlye does a great job of running the floor," Carlsen said. "She has good hands and will help add depth to the front court."
Jones averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs last season and earned all-division honors and was an honorable mention all-state pick.
She is the daughter of Bob and Tena Jones.
In November, the Mavericks signed two Omaha players and another from South Sioux City, Neb.. The trio includes Leslie Ross, a 6-2 forward from Millard West High School in Omaha, 5-8 guard Haley Fries, (pronounced "Hay-lee Freeze") Omaha Westside High School, and Andrea Schoepf (pronounced "Shep"), a 5-9 guard from South Sioux City.
