Strate, Mavs in the Lead at UNK Meet

GOTHENBURG, NEB. -- Sandy Stratte fired a first-round five-over-par 77 Sunday and Amanda Stock added an 80 to lead the Mavericks into first place in the Nebraska-Kearney Invitational at Wild Horse Golf Club. The 36-hole meet concludes with a 10 a.m. shotgun start Monday. The Mavs lead second-place Northeastern (OK) State by 16 shots. Other UNO scores include Mandy Houtz 81, Tanis Hastmann 89 and Stephanie Oster 93. Katie Etter, competing as an individual, shot an 88.
