Mavericks Finish Sweep With Overtime Win

Omaha, Neb--Kaleb Betts scored 1:50 into overtime to give the University of Nebraska-Omaha a 4-3 victory to cap a sweep of Western Michigan University in front of 5,206 fans at Qwest Center Omaha Saturday night.
The Mavericks came back from a 3-2 third period deficit to tie the game when Mike Lefley scored on a power play with 18:18 remaining in regulation. It was the third power play goal of the evening for UNO, which finished 3-11 with a man advantage.
UNO held a 1-0 advantage after one period on a goal by Scott Parse. Western Michigan tied the score in the second period on a goal by Kevin Labatte. Bill Bagron regained the lead for UNO with 11:47 remaining in the second period.
But the Broncos stormed back, getting power play goals from Mike Erickson and Brent Walton. Western Michigan went 2-5 on the power play for the game.
UNO outshot the Broncos 30-19.
UNO improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the CCHA. Western Michigan fell to 1-3 overall.
The Mavericks travel to Michigan State next weekend for a pair of games.
