Mavs Power Past Bisons

The UNO hockey team opened the 2004-2005 hockey season with a 7-0 exhibition win over the University of Manitoba Bisons on Monday night at the Qwest Center.
Seven different players recorded goals for Nebraska-Omaha, including four on the power play.
UNO jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period on goals by Phil Angell, Bill Thomas and Mick Lawrence. Bill Bagron and David Morelli extended the lead to 5-0 with a goal apiece in the second stanza. Mike Lefley and Kaleb Betts tallied power play goals in the final period to end Maverick scoring.
UNO was 4-6 on the power play and killed off all four Bison chances.
Chris Holt, Eric Aarnio and Kris Tebbs each played one period in goal for the Mavericks and combined for the shutout.
