Falcons Fly By Mavericks

Omaha, Neb--Bowling Green University used five power play goals to down the University of Nebraska-Omaha 6-4 in front of 5,112 fans at the Qwest Center Omaha.
Jonathan Matsomoto had two goals and an assist while James Unger added a goal and three assists for the Falcons, who ended up 5-8 on the power play for the game.
The Mavericks stormed out in the first period, taking a 2-1 lead into the locker room on goals by David Phillips and Dan Knapp.
But Bowling Green scored four unanswered goals over the second and third period to open up a 5-2 lead with 9:23 to play in the game. UNO would fight back when Bill Thomas scored with a man advantage to cut the lead to 5-3.
The Falcons answered 44 seconds later on a Michael Hodgson goal. Dan Knapp's second goal of the game rounded out the scoring.
Bowling Green goalie Jordan Sigalet stopped 25 of 29 shots in the contest while Chris Holt turned away 19 of 25 shots for the Mavericks.
UNO is now 6-4-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the CCHA while Bowling Green is now 5-2-1 and 3-2-1 in te CCHA.
The Mavericks play host to Ohio State next week in a pair of games at the Qwest Center Omaha.
