Mavs Split Doubleheader to Open Season

The Nebraska-Omaha baseball team won game 2 of a doubleheader with Missouri Western 2-0, after falling 3-2 in extra innings of the first game on Friday.
UNO starter Marc Badalucco held the Griffons in check for five innings in the nightcap, giving up just two hits and walking three. Mike Clutts came in and pitched the final two innings for the Mavericks and picked up his first save of the season. David Bodnar went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI to lead the Mavs offensively.
The Mavs and Western Missouri end the 4-game series with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28th at Phil Welch Stadium.
