Omaha, Nebraska--Bowling Green's Jordan Sigalet had 30 saves as the Falcons defeated Nebraska-Omaha 3-1 at Qwest Center Omaha Friday night.
UNO freshman forward Alex Nikiforuk opened up scoring at 7:46 of the first period. The lead was short lived as BGSU struck back with a goal 35 seconds later by Alex Rogosheske to tie the score at 1-1.
Bowling Green manufactured its next two goals by way of special teams. Mark Wires gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead at the 2:47 mark the the second period. Ryan Barnett then gave BGSU an insurance goal when he scored shorthanded three minutes into the third period.
The Mavericks are on the road next weekend at Ohio State.
