Mavs Win Two More in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla.- Andrea Lockett's RBI single in the seventh inning gave the Mavs a 2-1 win over UMASS-Lowell at the Rebel Spring Games Sunday. In UNO's earlier game pitcher Jenny Pritchard won her sixth game with a 1-0 shutout over Wayne State (MI) in an eight inning game.
The 18th-ranked Mavs (12-3) found themselves down 1-0 against Lowell in the seventh when Sara Sortino hit a two-out single and then advanced to second on a passed ball. Lauren McArthur advanced her to third with a single and then another passed ball scored Sortino to tie the game and put McArthur in scoring position. Andrea Lockett then stepped to the plate and hit a single up the middle to give UNO the game-winning run.
Cheris Kuster got the win with 10 strikeouts and improved to 4-2. She leads the team with 62 strikeouts.
Pritchard's performance against No. 25 Wayne State featured two strikeouts and no walks as she improved to 6-0.
The Mavericks will continue their spring break trip with games against Georgian Court and Northern Colorado Monday.
