Rockhurst Ends Mav Winning Streak

The Maverick 11-dual winning streak came to an end Saturday after Rockhurst topped UNO 8-1 at Hanscom Park Tennis Center. The Hawks swept doubles play and took five of six singles matches to give UNO (12-3) its first in-region loss of the year. Rockhurst upped its record to 5-1.
Sarah Huls claimed the only Maverick point with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Jenna Lee and improved to 7-4. The Mav No. 2 doubles team of Huls and Lindsay Henjum suffered its first loss of the year and Maggie Russell also fell for the first time in her singles career.
Henjum gave her singles opponent, Heather Renier, a challenge when she won the second set 6-3 to force a third set. Renier held on to win the deciding set 6-4.
UNO will host South Dakota next Sunday at noon at Hanscom.
