Wayne, Neb.--Freshman Greg Tubbesing earned his first collegiate win, scattering two runs in five innings of work as the Mavericks earned a 9-4 victory over Wayne State College in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday.
In the first game, Jim Sledge belted his fourth homer of the season in a 4-3 loss to the Wildcats.
UNO (8-12) opens up North Central Conference play next weekend by hosting Minnesota State, Mankato in a four-game series.
