Vos' Homer Leads Mavs to Doubleheader Sweep

KEARNEY, Neb. - Nicole Vos hit a one-run home run in the top of the eighth in the first game against Nebraska-Kearney to lead UNO to a 3-2 win. She then scored a run in the second game to lead UNO to an 8-3 win and sweep over the Lopers Thursday night. The fifth-ranked Mavs improved to 22-4 while Kearney dropped to 10-13.
In the opener UNK was able to tie the score in the sixth inning with an RBI double and a wild pitch. The score stayed that way until Vos led off the eighth and belted her third home run of the year. Taren Tuley earned the win after two and third innings of scoreless relief and improved to 7-1.
In the second game Kellyn Kramolisch had four hits and Lauren McArthur and Kelsey Warning each batted in two of UNO's eight runs. Jenny Pritchard improved to 9-1 with the win.
The Mavs will now head home to host the UNO Maverick Tournament Saturday and Sunday at Claussen-Westgate field. The Mavs will play their first game Saturday at 11 a.m. against Southwest Minnesota State.
