Kuster Strikes Out 15 as Mavs Win Two

SAINT JOSEPH, Mo.- Maverick freshman Cheris Kuster struck out 15 Bearcat batters and Nicole Vos hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to lead UNO to a 5-1 victory over Northwest Missouri State Sunday in the Missouri Western Invitational. In the second game Kelsey Warning hit a three-run shot in the third that led the Mavs to a 6-4 win over Missouri Western State. UNO is now 6-3.
Kuster gave up four hits and did not surrender a walk in the complete game victory, her first collegiate win.
Against Missouri Western Jenny Pritchard struck out five and gave up a home run while improving to 3-0 on the year.
The Mavericks will return home to play Northwest Missouri State in a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon starting at 3.
