NCC Play Wraps Up for Mavs this Weekend

The fourth-ranked Mavericks will wrap up North Central Conference play with doubleheaders at St. Cloud State Saturday at noon and at Minnesota State, Mankato Sunday at noon. The Mavs lost for just the fifth time this year when South Dakota State scored five runs in the fifth inning to defeat them 5-4 Wednesday night to break a 19-game winning streak and split a doubleheader. UNO is now 39-5 and 9-1 in the conference.
The Mavs were ranked No. 1 in the NCAA North Central Region ranking released Wednesday. The top teams in each region host the first rounds of the NCAA tournament May 6-9.
