Top Seeded Mavs Ready for NCC Tournament

The Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks, with the top seed in the North Central Conference tournament, will take on No. 8 North Dakota in the first round Friday at 10 a.m. St. Cloud State will host the two-day tournament in Sauk Rapids, Minn. The Mavs, ranked third in the nation, wrapped up the regular season with a 45-7 record and a 12-2 mark in the NCC. UNO is currently the top seed in the NCAA's North Central Region ranking with Truman State following.
NCC teams head to SCSU for tournament
St. Cloud State will host the NCC softball championship this Friday and Saturday at Bob Cross Park in Sauk Rapids, Minn. Games will begin at 10 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday with the final game set to start at 3 p.m. Friday (a second game will start at 5 p.m. if necasary). Ticket prices are $5 per day for adults and $3 for children and students.

Other matchups in the first round Friday are: No. 2 North Dakota State (36-7) vs. No. 7 South Dakota (21-35); No. 3 St. Cloud State (31-12) vs. No. 6 South Dakota State (26-34); and No. 4 Augustana (31-19) vs. No. 5 Minnesota State (26-24).
Second round games and first- and second-round consolation games will also be played on Friday. The remaining games will be played on Saturday.
