Vos Blasts Mavs to Three Wins in UNO Classic

Nicole Vos hit a home run in every game Friday as the Mavs won their first three games of the UNO Classic at Seymour Smith Complex. The Mavs defeated Minnesota-Duluth 6-1, Southwest Minnesota State 8-1 and Missouri Western 3-2.
Cheris Kuster (13-2) got two wins, recording 19 strikeouts, and Jenny Pritchard picked up the other Mav victory with seven strikeouts to go to 13-1. The fourth-ranked Mavs have now won 13 straight games and are 33-4 overall.
Vos now has 25 home runs and is three behind all-time Maverick leader Erin Drinnin. Her two-run shot in the MWSC game capped a three-run first inning for the Mavs. Vos finished the day with four hits and five RBIs. Kellyn Kramolisch also had four hits and she scored three runs.
Kuster gave up two runs to Missouri Western, her first earned runs allowed since facing MWSC March 23. Her 19 strikeouts put her at 167 on the year, third for the UNO single-season record.
The Mavs will play three more games Saturday with the first beginning at 9 a.m.
