Klosterman Signs D I Transfer Beth McGill

UNO coach Don Klosterman announced Wednesday that Beth McGill has signed a financial aid agreement and will play soccer for the Mavericks next fall. McGill, an Omaha native and Marian High School graduate in 2003, played at forward for Marquette last year as a freshman. In 18 games she had 11 starts, three goals and two assists, helping the Golden Eagles to an 11-8-1 record and a 7-3-0 mark in the Conference USA. She notched the game-winner last September in a 1-0 win over Memphis.
At Marian she was a four-year letterwiner under coach Ed Dudley, an assistant at UNO. Her team claimed a state title every year she was there and she earned a spot on the all-Nebraska team her sophomore and junior years.
McGill joins Nebraska transfer Amber Richardson and five incoming freshman as newcomers to next year's squad. The Mavericks lose three seniors and the team's top scorer, junior Ashley Grace, after finishing last year at 17-4-2 and ranked fourth after falling in the NCAA II national semifinal.
