Two Assistants Join Maverick Staff

University of Nebraska at Omaha women's basketball coach Patty Patton Shearer, has completed her full-time staff with the addition of Jason Flores and Brad Schick.
Patton Shearer took over as UNO's head women's coach in April after compiling a 60-49 four-season record at For Lewis College.
Both coaches served as assistants the past year at Fort Lewis College.
Flores, a native of Tucson, Ariz., was the associate head women's basketball coach at Fort Lewis College for four years with Patton Shearer, helping lead the team to the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time in school history. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson. During that stretch, Flores also served as the head freshman coach for three years and the head junior varsity coach for two seasons.
Flores is a 1995 graduate of the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in history.
Schick, a native of Gunnison, Colo., has been the associate head men's basketball coach at Fort Lewis College for four years, helping guide the team to two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference West Division titles and one league championship. The team also advanced to two NCAA Division II tournaments.
Schick was an all-state basketball player at Gunnison High School before playing three seasons at Northern Colorado. He then transferred to Western State College for his senior season and earned all-RMAC and all-North Central Region honors while leading the team to an 18-8 record.
Schick received his bachelor's degree in earth sciences/meteorology from Northern Colorado in 2000.
