Seventh-Ranked Cal State San Bernardino Sweeps UNO

San Bernardino, Calif. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team closed out the Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Classic with a 3-0 (30-20, 30-24, 30-20) loss to the host school, seventh-ranked Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday night before 217 fans at Coussoulis Arena. The loss dropped the Mavericks to 5-3 on the season.
Freshman Carlie Christensen led the Mavericks with eight kills, four blocks and a .417 hitting percentage (8k-3e-12a). Junior libero Chelsea Miller led the UNO defense with 15 digs.
The Mavericks hit just .078 in the match, plagued by 23 hitting errors. The Coyotes hit a .263 clip and outblocked UNO 17-10.
Nebraska-Omaha will travel to Aberdeen, S.D. next Friday-Saturday, Sept. 10-11 to compete in the North Central Region Crossover. The Mavericks will face Northern State at 11 a.m. and Winona State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 and conclude the tournament with a 2 p.m. match against Bemidji State on Saturday, Sept. 11.
