Thies Named NCC Player of the Week

Karen Thies' performance in the win over South Dakota Jan. 20 earned her player of the week honors in the North Central Conference. Thies had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the 67-61 win.
She shared the honor with Carissa Jahner of North Dakota. It's the second time in three weeks that Thies, a sophomore guard from Durango, Colo., has earned the honor.
The Mavericks this week will travel to St. Cloud State for their first NCC meeting of the season with the Huskies. Game time Thursday is 6 p.m. on KOZN, 1620 AM.
