Mavs Win In Return To The Bullpen

Omaha, Neb--Anothony Adams had a goal and an assist and goalie Chris Holt stoppped 32 shots, leading the University of Nebraska-Omaha to a 3-2 victory over Wayne State.
The Mavericks delighted a crowd of 6,574 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium, the home of Maverick hockey from 1997 until the spring of 2003. UNO has played the last season and a half at the Qwest Center Omaha.
Adams opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal 2:13 into the game. It was his first goal of the season.
Wayne State tied the game in the second on a goal by John May. But the Mavericks would strike back when Scott Parse deked out the Warrior defense and beat goalie Will Hooper for his 14th goal of the year.
The Mavericks would extend their lead in the third when Bryan Marshall tipped in a nifty pass from Adams with 4:41 to play.
Wayne State clawed back, scoring on the power play with 1:46 to go in the game. But Holt and the Mavericks would hold on for the win.
UNO improved to 13-10-2 on the year while Wayne State dropped to 12-11-2.
The two teams meet again Saturday night at the Civic Auditorium in a 7:05 tilt.
