Regionals Top-Ranked Mavs Facing 2 NCC Foes

Nebraska-Omaha will put its No. 1 regional ranking on the line as it travels to Augustana Friday at 4 p.m. and then hosts South Dakota Sunday at 1 p.m. The Mavs, who earned the NCAA's top spot in the first Central Region poll, have won nine straight games and are 9-1-0 and a perfect 5-0-0 in the North Central Conference. Augustana sits at the bottom of the league with a 3-9-1 overall record and 0-5-1 conference mark. South Dakota (9-4-0, 2-3-0 NCC) sits at fourth in the region. The Mavs, ranked No. 5 in the nation, already defeated both these squads earlier this year and are 13-0-0 all-time against them. The trip to Augustana will be the first for UNO since 2000.
The Mavericks will be closing out a season-long five-game road trip Friday and then will begin a season-long four-game homestand on Sunday. UNO is 5-1-0 on road contests and 2-0-0 at the Soccer Field at Ak-Sar-Ben. The Mavs have not allowed a goal at home this year and have given up just three shots to their opponents.
