Mavs Open Home Season Tonight

Coach Derrin Hansen will put his Mavericks on the floor at Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse for the first time this season when Missouri Valley College visits at 7 tonight. The game will start a busy week for the 1-4 Mavericks.
Missouri Valley, an NAIA team from Marshall, Mo., brings a 3-2 record into tonight's contest. The Mavs will be looking to stop a four-game losing streak in the third all-time meeting.
UNO will return to action this weekend at home, hosting the Downtown Courtyard by Marriott Classic on Friday and Saturday. UNO will play Colorado State-Pueblo and Oklahoma Panhandle State at 8 each night.
Senior forward Ryan Curtis leads the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game, while senior guard Calvin Kapels is next at 12.6. Kapels also leads the team in rebounding at 6.0, steals and assists. True freshman Michael Jenkins is the team's other double-figure scorer, averaging an even 10 points.
