Mavs Head to Missouri Western Wednesday

The Mavericks face two NCAA II non-conference rivals hoping to extend their three-game winning streak. UNO will play at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo., Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and will host Nebraska-Kearney at Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
The Records
The Mavs won three times last week to even their record at 4-4 heading into this week's play. Missouri Western is 5-0 entering Wednesday's contest. Nebraska-Kearney is 2-1 going into a Tuesday night game vs. York.
The Series
This is the seventh all-time meeting for UNO and Missouri Western, with the Mavericks holding a 4-2 edge. The Mavericks defeated the Griffons, 81-73, in Omaha the last time the teams met. It will be the 81st meeting for UNO and Nebraska-Kearney in basketball, with the Lopers holding a 45-35 lead in the series. UNO won last year in the season-opener in Kearney 76-73.
Last Week
The Mavericks defeated Missouri Valley College 94-59 to start off a three-game, six-day homestand. Zac Robinson scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures as UNO ended a four-game losing skid. Calvin Kapels scored 22 points, with 12 coming in the final nine minutes, as the Mavericks defeated Colorado State-Pueblo, 73-47, on Friday. Kapels came back with 21 points and 10 rebounds the next night to lead a 68-48 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State.
