Smith is Player of the Week in Nebraska

Senior forward JJ Smith has been named the Nebraska NCAA II player of the week for her performances in a pair of Maverick victories last week. Smith, from Lincoln, scored 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the two home-court wins that pushed UNO's winning streak to eight games.
Smith scored 20 points and had six rebounds in an 84-49 win over Peru State and recorded 16 points and five rebounds to go with three assists in a 96-63 victory over York College.
Smith continues to lead the 10-2 Mavs in scoring with 15.1 points per game, lifting her to No. 15 on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,049 points.
The Mavericks will be looking for their ninth straight win when they visit Southwest Minnesota State Saturday afternoon at 3 in their next game.
