Mavericks Roll to 10th Straight Win

DENVER, Colo. -- The Mavericks rolled up their highest point total and their largest margin of victory Thursday night in mashing Johnson & Wales, 115-49, to tie the school record with their 10th straight win. Lacey Geitzenauer led six players in double figures with 24 points.
UNO, now 12-2, will try to break the record for consecutive wins, set in 1980-81, when it meets Colorado School of Mines Friday at 4 p.m. CST.
The Mavericks breezed to a 61-22 halftime lead in coasting to the win.
JJ Smith added 20 points, Cayla Hargove 17, Toni Kinsey 13, Ashley Freerksen 11, Karen Thies 10, LaCheryl Prince 8 and Ellen Majewski and Carlye Jones 6 apiece.
The previous high for a Maverick team came in 2002-03 when UNO scored 108 points against Minnesota State, Mankato. The 66-point margin edged the previous mark of 64 in an 89-25 win over College of St. Mary in 2000-01.
