Mavs Win Two At Owl Classic

KENNESAW, Ga--Freshman Cayte Billman did it all Saturday evening, ripping in the winning run in the fifth inning in UNO's 4-3 victory over Wayne State (MI), and also picking up the win in the game.
UNO (3-2) led 2-0 heading into the fifth inning, only to see Wayne State post three runs in the top of the frame. Lauren McArthur tied the score at three, hitting in Erin Bluml in the bottom of the fifth. Billman then batted in Nicole Vos to give UNO the 4-3 edge.
Junior Jennifer Pritchard picked up the save in the contest.
In game one Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne, Sophomore Cheris Kuster took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as UNO defeated the Bears 2-0.
In the top of the seventh inning, Lauren McArthur launched a ball over the left-center fence to give the Mavs breathing room going into the final inning.
Kuster (1-1) struck out six, allowing one hit in seven innings of work.
Next up for UNO will be the Missouri Western Tournament March 5 and 6, in St. Joseph, MO.
