Mavs at Augustana for Tuesday Quarterfinal

The Mavericks will play at Augustana in Sioux Falls, S.D., in the first round of the North Central Conference Wells Fargo Finals. Game time is at 7 p.m. at the Elmen Center. A win would send UNO to the semifinals in Grand Forks, N.D., on Mar. 4 to play the winner of the South Dakota-Minnesota Duluth game. The Wells Fargo Finals Championship is Saturday night in Grand Forks, with the winner earning an automatic berth in the NCAA II tournament.

The game will be broadcast on KOIL, 1020 AM, with David Gustafson calling the play-by-play.

The Mavericks are 14-13 on the season and are 4-8 in the North Central Conference. Augustana is 21-8 and 6-6.
Coaching Staff
Head Coach Patty Patton Shearer is in her first season as the head coach at UNO and has a 14-13 mark. Overall in five seasons in college she is 74-62. Patton Shearer took over last spring after compiling a 60-49 record over four seasons at Fort Lewis College. She is a 1990 graduate of Rocky Mountain College. Her assistants, all in their first seasons at UNO as well, are Jason Flores, Brad Schick and Maurtice Ivy.
Last Game
Minnesota State scored the last seven points Saturday afternoon to pull away from the Mavericks and post a 78-70 victory in Mankato to end the regular season. Lindsey Petersen led UNO with 21 points and JJ Smith added 15 points to go along with a game-high nine rebounds. UNO led by as many as seven late in the first half before MSU hit a pair of three-pointers in the final eight seconds. UNO built the lead back up to seven in the opening minutes of the second half, but MSU scored 10 straight points. UNO tied the game twice in the late-going and trailed 71-70 on Chelsie Groslie's three-pointer with 1:16 to play, but MSU hit five of six from the line and added a layup to secure the win.
This Year vs. Augustana
The Mavericks split with the Vikings in their two regular season meetings. UNO notched a 58-57 win in the opening game of the NCC season in Omaha Jan. 6, but Augustana avenged the loss with a 73-69 decision in Sioux Falls on Feb. 5.
