Last Inning Rally Earns UNO Split With Bearcats

OMAHA --Lyle Lafountain's three-run walk off homerun with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted UNO to a 6-5 win and doubleheader split with Northwest Missouri State on Saturday.
Lafountain was 3-for-3 with a run and three runs batted in. James Adams (1-0) picked up the win for the Mavs.
In the first game, NWMSU capitalized on two UNO errors in the sixth inning and scored two unearned runs to hand the Mavs a 2-1 loss.
The Mavs (10-3) are scheduled to play Missouri Western State in a noon doubleheader Sunday at the CU Sports Complex.
