UNO Splits at Rebel Spring Games

ORLANDO, Fla.--Walks and errors proved to be too much to overcome as UNO fell to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, 12-3 in the opening game at the Rebel Spring Games.
The Maverick pitching staff gave up eighth walks combined with four errors as Edwardsville scored all runs in the second and third inning.
Katie Novotny and Missy Kelly had a double apiece for 6-5 UNO.
In the second contest, UNO topped California(Pa.) 9-1. Jenny Pritchard scattered eight hits striking out seven as she picked up her third victory of the season.
Offensively, the Mavericks pounded out six hits, as they capitalized on seven Cal. errors. Alison Jergenson and Katie Novotny each doubled as Kelsey Warning tripled.
UNO will continue play at the Rebel Spring Games and is set to play Southern New Hampshire and Wayne State (Mich.) Sunday at 8:50 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. respectively.
