Emporia State Sweeps Mavs

EMPORIA, KS --Emporia State's Scott Smith went 4-for-4 with two home runs as the No. 23 ranked Hornets swept the Mavericks 7-5 and 10-3 on Saturday.
Emporia State's John Martin broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-run double in the first game. UNO's Bryan Frew led the Mavs with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate.
The Hornets took control of the night cap with a five-run third inning. Josh Shirk led Nebraska-Omaha offensively going 2-for-3.
UNO (14-6) is scheduled to play at Northwest Missouri State in a doubleheader beginning at noon on Sunday.
