Bearcats Take Doubleheader From UNO

MARYVILLE, MO -- The UNO baseball team suffered a pair of losses on Sunday, losing 9-7 and 6-4 to Northwest Missouri State.
NWMSU raced to an 8-4 lead after three innings in the first game. The Mavs rallied to pull within a run on Chad Leon's three-run homer in the fourth inning but the Bearcats added an insurance run in the fifth inning and shut out the Mavericks the rest of the way.
UNO led the second game 3-2, but Northwest Missouri State took control with three runs in the fourth inning. The Mavericks loaded the bases in the sixth, but only managed to score one run. Leon and Troy Cloyd led UNO with two hits a piece.
The Mavs (14-8) are scheduled to take on Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State this next weekend.
