UNO Splits Twinbill with Pittsburg State

PITTSBURG, KS --The UNO baseball team split a doubleheader against Pittsburg State Saturday afternoon at Al Ortorlani Field.
Nebraska-Omaha defeated the Gorillas 9-8 in the night cap after sending 12 batters to the plate in the second inning. The Mavs took advantage of three walks, three errors and two hit batsmen. Min Sung's grand slam highlighted the nine run second frame. Sung finished the twinbill with three hits and five runs batted in.
Weston Cooper (3-0) picked up the victory in relief.
In the opener, PSU's Chris Reddout allowed just four hits in six innings while striking out six to lead the Gorillas to a 2-1 win.
The Mavericks are now 17-9 on the season.
