Mavs Set to Host CCHA First Round

The UNO hockey team continues preparations for its first home ice playoff series since the 2001-2002 season. The Mavericks will host Lake Superior State in a best-of-three series starting Friday.
The Mavericks have never faced a team seven times in the same season but that possibility now exists if a game three is necessary against Lake Superior State. The first playoff game in the history of Qwest Center Omaha on Friday will also be the fifth meeting this season between the Lakers and the Mavs.
UNO leads the all-time series with LSSU, 8-5-1. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. for all three contests.
The winner of the series will advance to the CCHA Super 6 in Detroit, March 17-19.
