Mavs Rally to Clip St Joseph's, 4-2

BRADENTON, FL -- The Nebraska-Omaha baseball team is off to its best start since Bob Herold took over as head coach of the program in 2000.
UNO (8-2) rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to beat St. Joseph's College 4-2 and extended its winning streak to six games.
The Mavericks trailed 2-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh, but an RBI single by Josh Shirk and a two-run single by Marc Centofante gave the Mavs the lead for good.
Weston Cooper (1-0) came on to shut the door on the Pumas for the final three innings to earn the victory. Cooper and starting pitcher Tim Huber allowed only three hits and combined for 12 strikeouts.
The Mavs are a perfect 4-0 on its road trip to Florida and continue play Wednesday with a doubleheader against Assumption College.
