UNO Drops Two at NWMS Tourney

MARYVILLE, MO.--Nebraska-Omaha dropped two games against ranked opponents Saturday at the Northwest Missouri State Tournament. UNO dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 7 Emporia State and fell 6-3 to No. 15 Missouri Western.
In the matchup against Emporia State all of UNO's runs came in the first inning on a two-run home run by Kelsey Warning, her sixth of the season.
Jenny Pritchard took the loss giving up six hits, striking out four dropping her record to 10-5.
Against Missouri Western, UNO scored three runs in the third, behind a Warning two-run shot. The Mavs held a 3-1 edge going into the fifth, only to see the Griffons launch three long-balls in the inning, scoring five runs.
Starting pitcher Cheris Kuster(10-9) suffered the loss after pitching 4 1/3 innings.
UNO(25-16-1) will continue at the NWMS tournament Sunday facing Central Missouri at 8:30 a.m., Truman State at 12:30 p.m., and Missouri-Rolla at 2:30 p.m.
