Mavericks Add Two Baseball Recruits

The University of Nebraska at Omaha has signed two baseball recruits for next season, including Bellevue East pitcher Tyler Cloyd.
Cloyd is 5-2 this season for the Chieftains and leads the state in strikeouts. He is the brother of a current Maverick, Troy Cloyd.
Coach Bob Herold also announced that Steve Englund, a senior at Woodbury High School in Woodbury, Minn., has accepted a scholarship offer.
Englund, a second baseman and outfielder, is hitting .400 with six doubles, two homers and 11 RBIs. He is the cousin of former Maverick Pete Englund, who played from 1996 through 1999.
