Mavs Drop Three at MSU Tourney

MANKATO, Minn.--Nebraska-Omaha scored two runs in three games as they dropped three at The Minnesota State, Mankato Invitational Saturday afternoon.

In game one, UNO dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 16 Missouri Western. Cayte Billman was charged with the loss dropping her record to 6-4.

Griffon pitcher Dana Wertz held UNO to six hits while striking out five.

Against Concordia-St. Paul, UNO was held to three hits in the 8-0 loss.

UNO starting pitcher Cheris Kuster went five innings giving up 12 hits and eight runs to drop her record to 10-10.

In Saturday's finale, No. 7 Emporia State held off a UNO comeback attempt in the seventh to defeat the Mavs 6-1.

Erin Bluml was 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Kelsey Warning's hitting streak came to an end against ESU, lasting 12 games.

Jenny Pritchard was charged with the loss dropping her record to 11-5.

UNO(31-20-1, 8-3-1) will continue at the Mankato Invitational facing Minnesota State, Moorhead at 9 a.m. and Winona State at 1 p.m.
