Mavs Sweep Bulldogs

After starting league play 2-1-1, Nebraska-Omaha swept through its first conference doubleheader defeating Minnesota-Duluth 5-4, 4-1.
With the Bulldogs jumping to an early lead in the second, Nebraska-Omaha was forced to come from behind in the first game. UNO answered with three runs in the third, also adding two runs in the fourth. Minnesota-Duluth posted a comeback attempt, but fell short, as they ended the game with the tying run on second.
Kellyn Kramolisch, Katie Novotny, and Leslie Svoboda each collected two hits for UNO.
Cheris Kuster went the distance for the Mavs giving up four runs on six hits while striking out six to move her record to 9-7.
In the second game, Jenny Pritchard(9-3) and Taren Tuley teammed up to hold the Bulldogs to one run. Prichard picked up the win, while Tuley picked up her first save of the season.
Nebraska-Omaha collected six hits, but Minnesota-Duluth gave the the Mavs seven free passes, including three to leadoff hitter Katie Novotny.
Leslie Svoboda was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a RBI.
UNO, now 23-12-1, will take on St. Cloud State tomorrow with the doubleheader set for noon.
