Mavs Win NCC Tourney Opener

OMAHA, NE -- Troy Cloyd pitched a complete game two-hit shutout to pace the UNO baseball team to an 8-0 win over North Dakota on day 1 of the North Central Conference baseball tournament at Seymour Smith Park.
Nebraska-Omaha (38-17) will play in the winner's bracket game on Saturday versus Minnesota Duluth at 2 p.m.
Marc Centofante hit a pair of home runs while Min Sung and Lyle Lafountain each added three hits a piece to lead the UNO 12-hit attack. Matt Meyer added three RBIs.
Troy Cloyd fired his third-straight shutout and fifth of the year to improve to 10-2 on the season. Cloyd faced 29 batters and threw 96 pitches in the winning effort.
In the other NCC bracket, Minnesota Duluth's Greg Aker was 3-for-4 with two RBIs as the Bulldogs edged MSU, 6-4.
