ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Senior Tanis Hastmann closed her illustrious career as a Maverick, battling high winds to post a closing-round 82 to lead UNO to a seventh-place finish in the NCAA II women's golf championship Saturday.
Hastmann finished with a 314 to finish in a tie for 15th, one shot ahead of junior Amanda Stock, who tied for 18th with a 315 total after firing a final round 81.
Windy conditions on the par-73, 6,069 yard Championship Course at the University of New Mexico kept the final round scores high. All but one team in the field shot their highest rounds of the 72-hole meet. Rollins College shot a 304 to finish at 1,185 to win its third straight team championship.
Freshmen Carly Froehlich, with a 94, and Sara Wolfe, with an 86, finished tied for 43rd with a 343 total, while junior Mandy Houtz shot 88 to finish at 346.
