UNO Advances to NCC Title Game

VERMILLION, S.D.--Behind the three-hit, three RBI performance by Kelsey Warning and a two-hit shutout by Cayte Billman, UNO (33-20-1) advanced to the NCC title game with a 5-0 win over Minnesota State, Mankato and will face the winner of Minnesota State, Mankato and St. Cloud State.
UNO opened the game scoring a run in the bottom of the first with an RBI bunt by senior Nicole Vos scoring Alison Jergenson. UNO added to its lead in the third behind a two-run home run by Kelsey Warning, her ninth round-tripper of the season. In the fourth, UNO scored two more behind three hits.
Kelsey Warning finished the day 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.
Freshman Cayte Billman (7-4) picked up her seventh win of the season, allowing two hits while striking out nine.
The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
